About Coders for Community

Coders for Community is a student organization that matches SMU students interested in gaining real-world experience in technology with organizations in Dallas seeking help with their technology.

Our Mission

Coders For Community (C4C) is a student-led group using technology for social good. C4C connects students passionate about software and community service to create custom tech solutions for local nonprofits, improving their efficiency and outreach. By working on real-world projects, students gain hands-on experience while making a positive impact in Dallas. Whether you're new to coding or an experienced developer, C4C welcomes all students eager to use their skills for meaningful change.

Founded at Southern Methodist University, C4C bridges the gap between academic learning and real-world application. We believe that technology should serve communities, not the other way around. Our student-led approach ensures that both nonprofits and students benefit from every collaboration.

Every project we take on is designed to create lasting impact. We don't just build websites or apps—we build relationships, skills, and solutions that help Dallas nonprofits thrive in an increasingly digital world.
